This policy explains what personal information we collect through recseo.com and in the course of providing our service, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
The short version
We collect very little. Our website runs no analytics and sets no tracking or marketing cookies. We collect information when you book a call with us, when you become a client, and when you email us, and we use it only to talk to you and to deliver the service you have paid for. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Information we collect
When you book a call. Our booking calendar is provided by Koalendar. When you book, you give your name, email address, your website, your role, and anything else you choose to tell us. We use this to prepare for the call (we look at your website beforehand) and to hold it.
When you become a client. We hold the business and contact details we need to deliver the service and to invoice you, including your name, business name, email address, website, and billing details, along with our correspondence with you.
When you email us. We keep your message and your contact details so we can reply and keep a record of what was agreed.
The website itself. recseo.com runs no analytics and sets no tracking, advertising or third-party cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is your currency preference (£ or $), which stays on your device, is never sent to us, and identifies no one.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| What we do | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Reply to your enquiry and hold a call | Legitimate interests, and taking steps at your request before a contract |
| Deliver the service and invoice you | Performance of our contract with you |
| Keep invoicing and accounting records | Legal obligation (tax and accounting) |
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the business. They process your information only on our instructions:
- Koalendar — our booking calendar
- Google Workspace — our email
- Vercel — hosting for recseo.com
- Our accountant and bank, where needed to invoice you and keep proper records
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, so your information may be transferred internationally. Where it is, that transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards as required by UK data protection law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t become clients: kept for up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Client and invoicing records: kept for 6 years after our work with you ends, because tax law requires us to keep financial records for that long.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us to give you a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these, email toni@recseo.com and we will respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell clients directly.
